Listen to your heart—come be a social worker in Meri-Lappi! We are seeking a social worker for a fixed-term starting 1 September 2026 or by agreement, ending 31 December 2026. Child and family social work involves planned social work to assess needs for support for the child and family through cooperation with supported actions and networks. The team handles initial assessments of contact registrations and child protection notifications, so the role includes service needs assessments under social welfare law and, when needed, child protection acts. The team includes social workers, family counselors, and a regional lead social worker. Joint work with family counselors is natural for us and we continue to develop it. The position also includes on-call duty within office hours and outside office hours; social on-call rotated to Roveniemi. We offer: a dedicated team and supervisor support, supervision, and regional collaboration in family social work; flexibility including remote work where appropriate; competitive salary of 4,304.37 €/month plus a regional permanent availability allowance of 300 €/month (subject to eligibility and being a licensed social worker); additional compensation for participation in off-hours on-call duties in the Southern/Lounais region. Requirements: licensed social worker; if no eligible candidates, may be filled temporarily for up to one year with a student who has completed basic and theoretical studies in social work and related practical training. Very good Finnish language skills, both spoken and written, are required. We value good collaboration skills and the ability and willingness to work in a multidisciplinary team; experience in child and family social work; independence and initiative. Employment terms follow the Social Welfare Agreement. A 2-month probationary period applies. Vaccination protection follows health and infectious disease law requirements.
