About the role

We are looking for a social worker enthusiastic about social emergency and crisis work for a permanent position in the Western Uusimaa Social and Crisis Emergency Services. Western Uusimaa Social and Crisis Emergency Services operates as the emergency social authority outside of office hours and supports people in acute traumatic crisis situations in the Western Uusimaa wellbeing services county 24/7/365. We are an emergency center-dispatched unit and are prepared to provide psychosocial support in the event of major accidents. We work closely with other authorities: our key partners are the emergency center, police, emergency medical services, and the rescue department. To support the work, we have regularly functioning supervision, the possibility of debriefing discussions after stressful work situations, and support from the immediate supervisor. The social worker's job description includes the duties of an on-call social worker in all areas of social work and crisis work. The work is multidisciplinary team-based work. Central to the work is the assessment of urgent and essential service needs in cooperation with the client, their relatives, and/or other professionals, as well as the necessary decision-making. Work related to crisis work includes acute crisis work and, if necessary, follow-up of crisis work. The work requires the ability to react quickly to changing situations and to prioritize tasks. Success in the role requires strong interaction skills, flexibility, good knowledge of social welfare legislation, stress tolerance, and a desire for professional development. Our unit employs 16 social workers, eight crisis workers, two leading social workers, one leading crisis worker, a service unit manager, and an office secretary. Our work community has diverse expertise and experienced staff. Your supervisor will be a leading social worker. The work is three-shift work. In addition to the position-specific salary, evening, night, Saturday, and Sunday compensations are paid. Eligibility requirements: Qualification according to Section 7 of the Act on Social Care Professionals (817/2015). The position requires good interaction skills, previous work experience in social welfare tasks, versatile IT skills, and a driver's license. The person selected for the position must present a criminal record extract as referred to in Section 6.2 of the Criminal Records Act. The person selected for the permanent position will undergo a limited security clearance. Those selected for the position/employment contract may be randomly asked for a drug test in accordance with the Western Uusimaa wellbeing services county's substance abuse program.
