Maintenance Vehicle Operator / Maintenance Machine Operator

We are seeking four fixed-term maintenance vehicle drivers / maintenance machine operators for the northern unit of Espoo’s Maintenance to perform street network maintenance work during the coming winter and spring (about December–May). The duration of the task is about 6 months depending on the starting date. The Maintenance unit’s four care areas are responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of Espoo streets, pedestrian and cycling paths, and squares in their own areas. The maintenance vehicle driver and maintenance machine operator participate in keeping residents’ safe and smooth movement and a pleasant living environment. Primary duties include, as needed and seasonally, snow removal, ice treatment, sand removal, cleaning, road surface maintenance, and small repairs in common areas. We also perform a variety of cleaning tasks and assist in other maintenance and street construction tasks as needed. Streets are treated in order of urgency according to maintenance classification. Drivers duties include on-call in winter and work outside normal working hours. We are recruiting for our Teirinsyrjä 4 site. In the Maintenance unit, about 200 professionals work and about 200 machine and vehicle units are in use. Work is done both independently and with self-direction. In addition to the unit’s operations, Espoo also operates two contract areas. According to Espoo City’s substance abuse program, applicants chosen for driving tasks lasting more than 6 months must provide an approved illegal drug test result before signing the contract. Eligibility: Suitable vocational college or vocational qualification or other qualifying competence. For the maintenance vehicle operator role, a B-driver’s license is required; for the maintenance machine operator role, a C-driver’s license and professional driving qualification are required.
