Chief Accountant

We are seeking a Chief Accountant for Partaharjun Puutarha Oy in Pieksämäki, as our long-time finance professional moves into a well-deserved retirement. Partaharjun Puutarha is a Finnish family business over 40 years old, uniquely combining three business areas: flower production, forest seedling production and wood processing. We are the Nordic region’s largest producer of bulb flowers, a significant grower of forest seedlings, and a growing player in the wood products sector. Our operation rests on long-term thinking, responsibility, and continuous development. Role: As the Chief Accountant you will be responsible for the group’s overall financial administration together with a capable finance team. Your duties include: handling general ledger, preparing monthly and annual accounts, coordinating group accounting, tax returns and regulatory reporting, preparing for audits and cooperating with auditors, and developing the finance function together with the rest of the organization. In your finance team there is also a colleague handling invoicing and payroll and a finance professional handling accounting tasks. We expect from you: suitable finance education; several years of experience in bookkeeping; strong ability to prepare financial statements; ability to take responsibility for the entire finance function; meticulous and proactive work style; good collaboration and interpersonal skills. Prior experience of group structures is an advantage, but the main asset is strong bookkeeping capability and willingness to take responsibility. We use Procountor, so familiarity with it is beneficial, but we will train you on its use if needed.
