Nipromec Oy, founded in 2003, is an internationally operating project and expert company offering design and consulting services across industries and countries. Our Finnish offices are in Rauma, Turku, Tampere, Mikkeli and Helsinki, with additional offices in Sweden, Norway and Germany as part of Vulcain Engineering Group (present in over 25 countries and employing over 7500 professionals). We seek an experienced and technically strong Lead Engineer to provide technical direction for electrical network and power line design in demanding energy infrastructure projects. You will work on Finnish and Swedish electric network, power line and transmission system projects in close collaboration with customers, project teams and other experts. You will ensure that design solutions meet customer, regulatory and industry standards; actively participate in design work, act as a technical expert at customer interfaces, and support and mentor designers on demanding projects. The position primarily targets Helsinki, Turku or Satakunta areas, but location is flexible for the right candidate. Travel in Finland and Sweden is required. Your responsibilities include technical leadership and design supervision for electrical networks and power lines, ensuring quality and technical review of design solutions, developing design principles and working methods, acting as a technical expert at customer interfaces, supporting and mentoring designers, participating in technical preparations of bids, and collaborating with project managers, customers and other experts in the group. Expected qualifications include suitable engineering or diploma-engineering education in electrical engineering, strong experience with electrical networks, power lines or substations design, experience coordinating or leading complex design projects, understanding of transmission-system or grid operator environments, ability to make technical directions and steer design work, and excellent collaboration and communication skills. Finnish and English language skills are essential; Swedish is a plus. We especially value experience from transmission grid and grid-operator projects, references in power-line or substation design, experience in an expert organization and mentoring designers, and insights into development of design processes and technical practices.
