Welcome to the position of Chief of Department at the Diagnostic Centre! The Diagnostic Centre of HUS is Finland’s leading provider of clinical laboratory and imaging services. Our main activity area is the patient care of the HUS hospital district’s specialized care and the welfare region’s basic health care. We also handle laboratory and imaging operations for the Kymenlaakso and South Karelia welfare regions. We work in eight medical specialties and are responsible for nationally significant specialized investigations as well as the university hospital’s research and teaching. Diagnostic investigations play a central role in confirming diseases, excluding conditions, as part of treatment, and in monitoring and screening. At the Diagnostic Centre, about 3400 laboratory and imaging professionals work at more than 150 sites. We are now recruiting two (2) Chiefs of Department for the Diagnostic Centre in Keski-Uudenmaan X-ray and South Karelia X-ray. To be selected for the Chief of Department role, radiology specialty is required. In this vacancy the eligible specialty is radiology. In your role you will primarily participate in clinical patient care and support the unit’s chief physician in administrative duties, in continuing education of the specialty, and in development of the department’s medical practice. Both units employ a wide range of modern imaging methods; the applicant should have up-to-date competences and a drive for development work. Experience in similar positions is considered an advantage. We value good interaction and collaboration skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team that serves both specialized health care and primary health care. The tasks primarily concern either Hyvinkää Hospital Radiology (Keski-Uudenmaan Radiology) or South Karelia Central Hospital in Lappeenranta. The department head salary for the position is 7312.31 euros per month ( ura level 3A ), plus possible experience pay and other supplements. Welcome to join us at the Diagnostic Centre! Qualifications: Specialist physician in radiology and a licensed medical practitioner, or permission to work as a physician. Depending on the position, experience in administration or leadership may be required. Proficiency in Finnish (spoken and written) and Swedish (adequate spoken and written) or Swedish (good spoken and written) with Finnish (adequate spoken and written) is required. We require vaccination in accordance with the Communicable Diseases Act for staff working with patients and a health status certificate for workers in health care units indicating health status with respect to tuberculosis.
