We are now looking for several practical nurses for permanent employment due to an increased number of clients. Welcome to Rinnekodit Maurinkoti! Rinnekodit opened a new unit in Helsinki, on the shore of Herttoniemi in the summer of 2024, providing housing services for adults with intellectual disabilities. Maurinkoti's clients need strong support in all daily matters and in supporting the realization of their right to self-determination. The location of the Herttoniemi site is excellent. Our unit, located in beautiful scenery by the sea, has a total of 35 client places. Task and its goals: As a practical nurse, you are in a key role in identifying the individual needs of clients and ensuring high-quality care. You work with a professional approach, respecting the client's right to self-determination and meeting them appreciatively. Your job description consists of supporting and maintaining our residents' functional capacity, basic care, possible medication, reporting, and supporting holistic well-being. Your presence is important - genuine encounter with the client and supporting communication are a significant part of your task. The unit is divided into two floors (4th and 5th floor), for residents with more severe care needs and for more functional residents. In working with the residents of the 4th floor, care, operating with assistive devices, medication, positioning care, skin care, and working with non-verbal clients are emphasized. Some clients need continuous supervision, also at night. Clients may sometimes exhibit challenging behavior. Outdoor activities are carried out with several residents daily. Other residents are taken outdoors at least weekly or more often according to the resident's wishes. Knowing the clients, adhering to common operating methods, and calm resident-oriented work prevent incidents, which is why teamwork is important to us. The unit is divided into teams, so you should bring forward your own expertise and interests. We expect from you: a practical nurse degree and Suosikki registration from the License and Supervision Authority; a social and healthcare professional card (Kanta certificate card); willingness to demonstrate medication skills by completing a medication permit within four months of starting employment and regularly during employment; willingness for three-shift work; basic Finnish language skills needed for documentation and meeting clients. We check the criminal record extract of the person selected for the task in the manner intended by legislation (Act on the Supervision of Social and Health Care) before concluding the employment contract. The criminal record extract must not be older than six months. Work community and culture: Our work community includes practical nurses, registered nurses, special instructors, instructors corresponding to home caregivers, and the service unit manager as your supervisor. Your supervisor is committed to supporting your and the entire work community's development with a coaching approach – encouraging, giving feedback, and listening in moments of concern. We encourage each other to grow both on our own paths and together! We use the principles of a safer space. By following these together, we ensure an appreciative, safe, and pleasant work community for everyone, where everyone can be themselves.
