About the role

We are seeking a specialist in hand surgery for the Western Finland welfare region, initially placement at the orthopaedic unit in Vaasa Central Hospital. The Western Finland welfare region is one of Finland's 21 welfare regions and is responsible for social, health and rescue services for about 176,000 inhabitants in the Ostrobothnian region. The area includes 14 municipalities along the west coast. The welfare region offers a work environment for specialists where you can do diverse work as part of a multidisciplinary and skilled work community. The central hospital for specialized healthcare is Vaasa Central Hospital, a hospital with extensive on-call services that provides high-quality round-the-clock specialized care. Outpatient services in specialized care are also offered in Pietarsaari, enabling high-quality and accessible services for the population of the entire area. In the Western Finland welfare region, high medical competence and continuous development are valued. Vaasa Central Hospital is a significant educational and research environment, and cooperation with educational institutions and university hospitals is wide. Proficiency in both national languages, Finnish and Swedish, in spoken and written forms. The selected candidate must have a valid vaccination coverage under the Communicable Diseases Act (1227/2016) 48 §. Probationary period applies.
