About the role

This vacancy is for a Client Advisor in the Crisis Team within Helsinki’s Kaakkoian customer guidance unit. The Crisis Team operates city-wide, assessing urgent social welfare needs of older adults and coordinating necessary services during office hours. The role combines crisis-team duties with assessment and placement processes related to round-the-clock care and communal living, including SAS-procedures. The team comprises social workers, customer advisors, and program managers. The position starts on 1 October 2026. The advisor’s tasks include broad assessment of service needs for Helsinki’s older population, coordinating services, and making related service decisions. The aim is to support well-being with timely, light-touch services and to work in multidisciplinary collaboration with home care providers, rehabilitation units, gerontological social work, senior centers, and hospitals. The job involves rapid, holistic assessment of service needs in crisis situations, coordinating process entries for round-the-clock care and community housing, and contributing to SAS-process development. The role also emphasises health-care expertise and the ability to evaluate health status as part of social welfare assessments. The Crisis Team operates during office hours with three advisors city-wide, with additional social workers, client advisors, and a client relations manager. The successful candidate will work closely with on-call social workers, client’s own caseworker, relatives, and other stakeholders. We offer meaningful, diverse work in elderly services, supportive colleagues, and opportunities to contribute to developing new processes. We provide opportunities to apply health-care expertise to timely assessments and service arrangements that support client safety and independence. We offer extensive training and development opportunities. As city employees, you can apply for housing through Auroranlinna with below-market rents. We also provide Epassi Flex including exercise, culture, commuting and wellbeing benefits up to 550 EUR per calendar year, with balance determined by length of employment; a lunch benefit is also available, plus a city bicycle and access to a recreation island for city employees.
