The open fixed-term position is located in a special education class for 1st-2nd grade students (combined class). You will work with a school assistant as your partner. As a special education teacher, you maintain a good class spirit and see students as individuals. In a demanding daily routine, your methods include positive reinforcement, planning and implementing student-specific support measures, and calm management of changing situations. Your toolkit includes diverse pedagogical methods for demanding tasks, you operate with a solution-oriented approach, and you are a proactive member of the work community. Simonkallio School is a primary school of approximately 550 students that has recently undergone a thorough renovation, allowing you to teach in completely renewed and modern workspaces. In our daily work, we operate in grade-level teams, and time is reserved weekly for teamwork. Our school hosts regional music classes for grades 3-6 and two regional preparatory education groups. We are a Prokoulu and guide behavior with a solution-oriented approach. The well-being of the entire school community is the cornerstone of our operations, and we have active activities to maintain school and work well-being throughout the school year.
