Assistant Head Nurse

We are seeking an Assistant Head Nurse for the pediatric emergency anesthesia and surgery unit, surgical side. The unit cares for patients across all specialties from newborns to young adults. The ward holds national responsibility for pediatric open-heart surgery and organ transplantation, and operates in constant standby for emergencies. As Assistant Head Nurse, you will share in the daily operations planning, organization, and smooth functioning in cooperation with the ward head nurses, other assistant head nurses, and multi-professional teams. The role is a day job and offers a diverse, challenging, and rewarding opportunity to participate in perioperative pediatric nursing leadership and development. Success requires strong communication and collaboration skills, organizational ability, and commitment to continuous evaluation and improvement of practice. Experience in pediatric nursing and demonstrated development of operations are considered advantages. Eligibility includes an appropriate higher education degree with related leadership or administrative studies, or a combination of lower degree with leadership studies, or prior approved ward manager qualification with related experience, or a vocational qualification with leadership studies. Language requirements include good Finnish in spoken and written form and acceptable Swedish in spoken and written form, or vice versa.
