We are seeking a librarian for Hirvensalmi Library starting 2 November 2026 or by agreement. The City of Mikkeli Library Services recruit for a permanent position. The available role is located in Hirvensalmi Library, which is part of the Mikkeli regional library. Hirvensalmi municipality purchases library services from the City of Mikkeli. In this role you will be responsible for the daily operations of the school-centre library. Duties include customer service, collection work, event planning and execution, and active collaboration with early childhood education, school and other local actors. At Hirvensalmi Library you work alone, but you are supported by colleagues in the regional library, expert networks and your supervisor. Regular contact is maintained via remote meetings. The job suits someone who enjoys an independent role and is excited about the possibility to plan, develop and implement library activities as part of the regional library community. The working hours are office hours totaling 36 hours 15 minutes per week. The job is a two-shift arrangement, weekends are not typically included. Salary and other terms of employment are determined according to KVTES. The job’s level pay is 2998.05 €/month, with a potential additional 3%–8% of the level pay based on previous work experience.
