Child Welfare Social Worker

Child welfare social worker needed in Kajaani for the Perheneuvola and family law services within Kainuun hyvinvointialue. The position is based in Kajaani with part of the duties potentially performed remotely. Responsibilities include preparing and confirming child custody, residence, contact rights and child support agreements, assess legality and the child’s best interests, handling supervised contacts, supporting parental matters under the parental responsibility act, providing guidance and service navigation in cases of parental separation and family law, drafting court reports on housing, custody and contact arrangements in collaboration with other social workers, and participating in network collaboration and service development. The role requires the ability to evaluate the child’s best interests, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and an independent work approach. Experience with divorce-related family situations and promoting conciliatory solutions is valued. Additionally, knowledge of child welfare law and family social work is an advantage. A legally qualified social worker is required; the pay is 4286.27 €/month as determined by Kainuun sosote. Start date 21.9.2026 or as agreed, 6-month probation.
