Primary school teaching assistant

We are seeking substitute teaching assistants for Isolahden School in Vaasa for the 2026-2027 school year. The duration of substitutions varies from one day to a few weeks, and the need for substitutes is year-round. Isolahden School is a Vaasa-based school with form-based special education and général education. Special education classes (ER) are at grades 1-6. The demanding special support classes (VER) are at grades 1-9. General education is at grades 1-6. The school has long traditions of ER classes and several years of experience with VER classes. Multiculturalism and flexible teaching arrangements are part of our daily life. Isolahden School has about 350 students and 110 staff on a daily basis. The task is to assist and guide students in special or general education during lessons, breaks, and other situations. In filling positions we also consider applicants who may not meet all qualifications; suitability will be assessed case-by-case. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. The required qualification is either a teaching assistant qualification or a practical nurse qualification or another suitable qualification. Language requirement: good Finnish. We value experience and motivation for working with children and a positive attitude toward supporting pupils. We offer opportunities to develop in school-related tasks.
