Original job description

Lapland Staff is recruiting front desk customer service representatives for a recruitment pool at Lapland Safaris locations for the 2026–2027 winter season. Work at the different locations begins in November 2026. The pool is for filling jobs that may become available before the winter season. Candidates selected for the next stage will be interviewed in September–October 2026, and hires may be made from the pool before the season starts if cancellations or additional needs arise. The locations included for this role are Ylläs, Levi, Saariselkä, Luosto and Rovaniemi. A front desk customer service representative is a versatile role serving domestic and international customers. You help customers choose the service that suits them, make a booking and take the matter forward. The front desk also handles equipment rental and the Safari Shop, including pricing and displaying its products. Your duties also include cash-register work and helping customers as safaris depart. Front desk representatives work closely with other teams, such as operational sales and production. The work is not limited to face-to-face service at the customer desk; some duties take place in the back office using various systems. Good IT skills and the ability to handle several systems are expected. Back-office duties include making and managing bookings, responding to customer messages by email and phone, and communicating with stakeholders. Much of the work takes place over the phone, so readiness to provide telephone customer service is required. Responding to customer feedback and messaging on social media are also often part of the front desk role, though the emphasis varies by location and during the season. The front desk also often helps the equipment team distribute gear and help customers get dressed. Work takes place face-to-face at the safari house reception. Selling safaris and providing customer service by phone and email are part of everyday work. Equipment rental is also included. Work is done in two shifts. We expect you to have customer-service skills and a sales-oriented attitude; an initiative-taking approach and eagerness to learn; excellent cooperation and interaction skills; problem-solving skills, flexibility and the ability to work under pressure; and the accuracy needed for handling money and balancing the till. Fluent English is required. Other languages, especially French, are considered an advantage. We offer the support of an excellent team and varied duties, an international work community, the beautiful scenery of Lapland, an easy way to come to Lapland for work, and many leisure opportunities. Lapland Hotels & Safaris provides extensive staff benefits, including benefits for equipment rental, restaurants and lift passes at Lapland Ski Resorts. Lapland Safaris provides new employees with paid induction specific to the role at the beginning of employment. The employment is fixed-term under the programme services collective agreement. Work begins in mid-November and continues until the latter part of March. Pay is at least according to difficulty group B–C in the programme services collective agreement pay scale, starting at €12.90 per hour. You must also be prepared to work weekends and public holidays. Accommodation is arranged in shared rooms at a rent that is reasonable compared with local prices. Please note that Lapland Safaris is a smoke-free workplace. Further information: info@laplandstaff.fi Read more about our roles and typical workdays at the link provided in the posting.
