Chief Physician

The position of Chief Physician may include the additional role of service-area director, and we seek a person who can function in the role of service-area director. The General Medicine service area comprises four responsibility areas: the General Medicine responsibility area (east and west), the geriatrics responsibility area, and the palliative center and home hospital. The General Medicine service area belongs to Results Group 1 together with the Medical Service Area and the Emergency Services area. Your task as Chief Physician is to lead health care and manage and adhere to the service area budget. You will also be responsible for producing health services for residents, sizing service production to match needs, and ensuring smooth cooperation with other actors. You will partly ensure the conditions for teaching and research within the service area. The Chief Physician is responsible for the service area’s finances, distribution of resources, and the functioning and efficiency of processes in collaboration with the area directors and head nurses. Key partners include the service area’s area directors, head nurses, results-group director, other service-area directors within the results group, and university actors. If desired, the Chief Physician may spend up to 20% of working time on clinical patient care.
