About the role

We are seeking a permanent early childhood education teacher for Tiedonjyvän päiväkoti in Vantaa. The daycare, established in 2021 alongside Jokiniemi school and high school, is located near Hiekkaharju and Tikkurila train stations with good transport connections. The role is to work in the daycare’s home base, within a team of three educators. The team aims to foster a warm, playful, and safe operating culture, with a focus on sensitive approaches and respect for families. We are involved in ProVaka (positively group-based learning in early childhood education) and expect an enthusiastic approach toward developing positive pedagogy. The prospective employee will join a diverse, open, and supportive work community, and will be invited to shape the classroom environment in discussion with the team. Applicants are encouraged to apply; we are happy to present the facilities during the interview. Key responsibilities include collaborating with colleagues, supporting children of various backgrounds in a calm and inclusive manner, and contributing to a welcoming, child-centered learning atmosphere with low stress and authentic presence. The city of Vantaa offers strong professional development, wellness benefits, and opportunities to participate in leadership and broader educational initiatives. We value teamwork, constructive feedback, and a positive atmosphere. The position is a full-time, permanent contract with a 6-month probationary period. The standard work hours are 7:30–16:30, Monday through Friday. For more information, contact the daycare director Johanna Möttönen at 0503145628 or email johanna.mottonen@vantaa.fi; the deputy director can be reached at taina.niukkanen@eduvantaa.fi. Applications are accepted via our recruitment system, with an application window from 03.08.2026 12:00 to 20.08.2026 16:00. The posting is in Finnish; Finnish is the required language for the job.
