Backend Developer

Senior Backend Developer at iLOQ in Oulu. We are now looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join our Software organization in Oulu. You will design, develop and maintain the secure, reliable and scalable backend services at the core of iLOQ 5 Series+. This is a role for an experienced software professional who enjoys solving complex problems, takes ownership beyond writing code and wants to influence both technical solutions and the way software is developed. What you’ll do As a Senior Backend Developer, you will work as part of a cross-functional software team and contribute throughout the software lifecycle. You will: Design, develop, test and maintain reliable, scalable backend services and APIs for our cloud-based platform Take end-to-end ownership of services from design and implementation to release, monitoring and continuous improvement Translate functional and non-functional requirements into practical technical solutions Explore and apply AI-assisted development tools in a secure and responsible way Review code and develop automated tests, supporting high standards for security, quality and maintainability, and contributing to efficient CI/CD practices Investigate and resolve complex technical issues Contribute to the modernization and continuous development of our software architecture Collaborating with Product Owners, Software Architects, Test Engineers and other stakeholders, share knowledge and support the development of colleagues What you’ll bring To succeed in this role, we expect you to have: Relevant degree (Bachelor or Master) Several years of professional experience in backend software development, including designing and implementing APIs and backend services Strong skills in C# and .NET or comparable backend technologies Experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS, and a solid understanding of microservice architectures and distributed systems Experience working with relational databases and data-driven applications Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD and modern software development practices An understanding of software security, maintainability and operational reliability The ability to analyze complex problems and turn them into clear, sustainable solutions A proactive and collaborative working style with strong communication skills, including professional written and spoken English We consider experience in the following areas an advantage: AWS services and cloud-native application development Event-driven architectures and asynchronous communication Service monitoring, logging and observability Secure software development or access management solutions High-availability or business-critical systems Working with software solutions that interact with physical products or devices What you’ll get You will build products that end up in buildings all over the world and ease the everyday lives of our customers.
