About the role

Osa-aikainen, 50 %, valvontaeläinlääkäri tekee läheistä yhteistyötä vakituisen valvontaeläinlääkärin kanssa. The position is part-time (50%), working closely with the regular supervising veterinarian. The duties include cooperating with municipal health authorities and performing veterinary tasks within the Hangö, Ingå and Raasepori region, with travel between offices as necessary. The appointment is governed by the municipal collective agreement. Personal onboarding plans are drawn up at the time of selection. We support professional development and provide occupational health services (Mehiläinen) and ePassi lunch and staff benefits. To promote equal treatment, all Hangö city recruitment is conducted anonymously, so applicants should describe their relevant competencies and experience in their application form. A health certificate from the employer’s occupational health service and participation in drug testing may be required. A six-month probation period applies.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the regular supervising veterinarian
  • Perform veterinary tasks within the municipal environment health surveillance
  • Work in Hangö, Ingå and Raasepori areas with travel as needed

Requirements

  • Licensed veterinarian degree in Finland
  • Strong spoken and written Finnish and Swedish
  • Experience in similar tasks (advantage)
  • Experience in municipal administration (advantage)
  • Ability to use Vati system and other state surveillance applications and the Tervekuu database
  • Experience in other municipal environmental health surveillance tasks (advantage)
  • Local knowledge (advantage)
  • Own car for work (required)
  • Team collaboration and independent decision-making
  • Six-month probation
  • Health certificate upon appointment and drug testing may be required
