About the role

Jalasjärven Kuntola provides high-level foster care for children and youths aged 10–17. As our unit expands with a new 5-bed living unit, we are hiring caregivers. The unit houses 15 residents split into three sub-units and specializes in intensive care for youths with psychological and neuropsychiatric needs, along with psychiatric and functional rehabilitation. A high staff-to-resident ratio enables individualized and safe interaction. Our primary goal is to offer stable, activity-based daily life under adult leadership for the children and youths. We do not care for youths affected by substance abuse or criminal activity. Applicants may have education as a child welfare worker, youth and community worker, social services student, nurse, or community pedagogue. Your role is to implement unit care, upbringing, and rehabilitation work, coordinating with a multidisciplinary team. We value a positive, solution-focused approach, and experience in child welfare, psychiatry, or developmental disabilities. You will operate with the child’s best in mind even in challenging situations, being firm yet gentle. A sense of humor and a proactive attitude are appreciated. We offer: a flat organization with agile operations, small client groups and high staffing levels, comprehensive onboarding, opportunities to influence shifts and vacations (long shifts of about 10–12 hours), ongoing professional development with regular supervision and psychiatric case supervision, good staff benefits such as ePassi and extensive accident insurance, and pay grades G22 (2526.70–2860.61 €) for basic education and G25E (3047.45–3324.77 €) for polytechnic education. Apply by Aug 30, 2026 with a free-form application and CV. Learn more at www.kuntolat.fi.
