Anko Law Office seeks a legal assistant trainee for its Helsinki office to begin a work placement, ideally starting in August–September but flexible for the right candidate. The firm, founded in 2019, has offices in Kouvola, Kotka, Lappeenranta, Lahti, Helsinki, Espoo, Hyvinkää and Hämeenlinna. Most assignments involve criminal and civil cases, with work in foreign law, family law, child law and labor law also handled. We draft probate inventories, inheritance division documents, powers of attorney, wills, and prenups. As a trainee you will assist with legal aid and protection claims, liaise with stakeholders, manage assignments with a lawyer, and handle filing. You will deepen your knowledge of family and estate law by preparing probate inventories, guardianship documents and wills. During the internship you will attend court hearings as a listening observer with a lawyer. You will have a mentor throughout the internship to help you in difficult situations. Preferred qualifications include prior customer service experience, curiosity about learning, motivation, strong work ethic, client orientation, desire to become an expert assistant, and English language skills.
