About the Team: The Voice Agent team builds real-time systems that allow Decagon agents to carry natural conversations across omnichannels. About the Role: As a Staff Software Engineer focused on Voice Agent, you will lead the architecture and evolution of Decagon’s voice platform, driving multi-quarter projects to improve timing, responsiveness, audio quality, and reliability. You will mentor senior engineers and raise the technical bar. In this role you will own the architecture of the real-time voice runtime, lead initiatives to improve speech understanding and synthesis quality, define reliability and observability standards, build debugging frameworks, and expand the Voice group culture. Your background should include 8+ years of engineering experience, expertise in real-time systems or audio, ability to lead cross-functional projects, strong debugging skills, and experience mentoring engineers. Even better if you have experience with speech recognition/synthesis, VAD, real-time audio, or LLM-driven apps. Compensation: $200K – $400K + equity.
