We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to lead the development of Discord's next-generation experimentation platform, including building state-of-the-art AI assisted experimentation workflows. You will lead and mentor engineers, fostering their growth and enhancing their skills.

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and support Discord's next generation experimentation platform including core services, data pipelines, configuration tooling, statistical analysis tools and UX
- Collaborate with external stakeholders and customers across the company
- Understand and influence product telemetry practices to support experimentation needs
- Build high-scale data systems and delightful user experiences for internal teams and features used by millions daily
- Deliver business results by collaborating with stakeholders to experiment on features, ML models, and more
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience as a full-stack SWE
- Built internal tools and are familiar with A/B testing and statistical frameworks
- Experience with experimentation tooling; building core parts of experimentation platforms from scratch is a huge plus
- Extensive experience leading complex technical projects with successful outcomes
- Built systems with strong data governance controls that respect privacy and security principles
- Proficient in Python and SQL; TypeScript or Rust a plus
- Experience with relational, NoSQL, and data warehouse datastores
- Strong product sense and communication skills; cross-functional collaboration
- Track record of developing engineers at multiple levels, and staying current with industry trends
- Bonus: experience building human-in-the-loop AI systems and AI product evaluation
- Bonus: cloud platforms like GCP or AWS
- Bonus: modern data processing stacks
- Bonus: full-stack development or product engineering experience
- Bonus: understanding of statistics, data science, or large-scale data processing
