Music Teacher

We are seeking a substitute music teacher for Ressun Primary School. The teaching duties cover both primary and lower secondary (grades 4–9), with about half of instruction conducted in English. Teaching hours exceed the regular teaching load. Ressun Primary School is a ~800-student international school in southern Helsinki, following both the city curriculum and the IB programme. The Finnish-speaking side offers a safe learning path from first grade to ninth grade for children in the Kampi area, while the English-speaking side admits students through a language-test-based admission each year. Through continuous admission, we receive students monthly, making classroom placement and teaching of emotional and interpersonal skills crucial. We teach Spanish and French as A2 languages. The school also runs a preparatory group for the upper secondary level. We operate in two campuses: primary at Lapinlahdenkatu and the upper secondary at Ruoholahdenkatu (and Lapinlahdenkatu). The Lapinlahdenkatu building will undergo major renovations in a couple of years, so teaching in temporary spaces will be timely. We seek a teacher who is enthusiastic about teaching and learning. In fixed-term positions, applicants who meet the eligibility criteria are considered, and those lacking the required eligibility may also be considered. For fixed-term civil service positions, a police background check under Act 504/2002 is required. In addition, excellent Finnish oral and written skills and proficiency in English, as specified by the government decree and the National Agency for Education.
