Early Childhood Education Specialist

We are seeking a skilled special education professional to join our team in the Helsinki early childhood education unit Lauttasaari-Lunni. The unit emphasizes play, peer skills, and a sensitive approach to each child, operating in a community-driven way. You will work with other staff to plan activities, monitor each child’s support needs and progress, guide and support children in early childhood education and pre-primary teaching, and help build an inclusive culture and learning environment tailored to each child’s needs. The role follows the Helsinki early childhood education and pre-primary plans, the unit’s plan, and the child’s individual learning plan. A 2000-euro incentive bonus is offered when starting a permanent position as a special education teacher with Helsinki City in 2026. The list of duties includes planning with staff, monitoring support needs, guiding children, creating an appropriate environment for learning, and supporting individual learning.
