A taste of what you’ll do The Payments and Risk Team Leader is responsible for managing a team of Payments and Risk Analysts and reports directly to the Head of Payments and Risk. The role requires a strong focus on leadership, communication, organisation, and attention to detail. As the team’s main point of escalation, the Payments and Risk Team Leader ensures operational targets and deadlines are achieved while supporting the team’s training and development. The role also involves communicating important operational and technical updates across the business when required. - Manage and oversee the Payments and Risk Analysts during required operational hours and act as their first point of escalation. - Monitor, assess, and report on performance across all Payments, Fraud, and Risk-related matters. - Ensure company SLAs, including document and payout handling times, are met daily. - Monitor departmental KPIs and optimise, adjust, and report on them when necessary. - Ensure the team follows Payments and Risk procedures and best practices. - Assess the quality and quantity of work completed by the Analysts. - Review and resolve escalated Payments and Risk issues within agreed SLAs. - Provide regular feedback and communicate departmental changes, procedures, and policies. - Monitor bonus abuse, identity theft, and other types of fraud, taking appropriate action to minimise risks and losses. - Report daily on the team’s productivity, efficiency, and performance to the Head of Payments and Risk. - Mentor the team and oversee performance through regular one-to-one meetings. - Review daily AML user risk score reports and ensure the correct processes and follow-up actions are completed. - Escalate potential risks to the MLRO, AML team, and Head of Payments and Risk. - Suggest, document, and communicate Back Office improvements to increase the team’s efficiency and performance. - Support the Head of Payments and Risk with projects, recruitment, and setting departmental KPIs. - Assist the Analysts during periods of high workload or short staffing. - Report system bugs, errors, and improvement opportunities through the appropriate internal channels. - Manage the team schedule and allocate daily tasks fairly, ensuring all operational requirements are covered. - Act as the team’s main point of contact in the absence of the Head of Payments and Risk. - Conduct inductions and cross-training for new and existing team members. - Any other task or responsibility that may be related and/or connected to your role as Payments and Risk Team Leader. Who and what we are after? - Knowledge of online payments, gaming accounts, banking, and payment processing. - Previous experience in customer risk assessments, Enhanced Due Diligence, and AML rules and regulations within the gaming industry. - Good knowledge and understanding of legislation and regulations relating to fraud and risk mitigation. - Leadership skills with a proven track record of coaching, mentoring, and developing team members. - A positive, can-do attitude and the ability to lead by example. - Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations. - Excellent analytical skills and a curious mindset, with the confidence to challenge the status quo. - An agile thinker with a strong understanding of numbers and data. - Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to also work independently. - Ability to learn new technologies, systems, and applications quickly. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. - Knowledge of an additional language, such as Swedish, Danish, or German, is considered an advantage. - Willingness to work shifts. - Experience within sportsbook is considered a strong advantage.
