Product Manager at Yle, leading digital customer journeys; requires several years of product experience.

Original job description

Would you like to help create some of Finland’s largest consumer services, used by millions of Finns from babies to grandparents? Are you interested in the long-term development of services at a product organisation with top professionals, a strong culture and an important societal mission? If so, welcome to our passionate team. What can you expect? We are looking for a Product Manager to develop customer relationships and customer journeys for Yle’s digital consumer services and lead growth execution. In your daily work, you will work closely with development teams, other Product Managers and the Heads of Product for the services. You will also collaborate closely with marketing to strengthen growth experiments, customer acquisition and retention across Yle. As a Product Manager: - You are responsible for setting objectives and priorities for your area, taking customer and business needs into account. - You lead the work of a multidisciplinary development team and help it focus on what creates the most value. - You are responsible for developing your products together with your team throughout their lifecycle. - You systematically build customer understanding in your product area. - You ensure that solutions are effective, perform well and have a sustainable cost structure. - You communicate the product vision and development progress clearly across the organisation. - You promote and facilitate collaboration between different teams and functions. The position is permanent and starts by agreement. What do we expect from you? Strong product leadership and growth expertise (Product / Growth Management): You have several years of experience as a Product Manager. You also have strong expertise in digital service development, customer relationship development, and planning and carrying out growth initiatives. Experience leading a product team: You can act as the owner of a product area, bringing different perspectives together. You provide context so everyone on the team knows what is being done and why. You create the conditions for the team to succeed and build psychological safety. Ability to make bold, well-reasoned prioritisation decisions: You understand that every “yes” means a “no” to something else. You justify choices through objectives and impact. You also have a deep understanding of customer needs and user experience. You can move smoothly from monitoring operational data to roadmap planning and defining the product vision. Excellent interaction and negotiation skills: You build an open culture of discussion and are able to develop trusted partnerships. You can influence without a managerial position or line responsibility. A future-oriented outlook and technological curiosity: You actively follow changes in the market, society and technology. You have the perspective and courage to use AI, new tools and data analytics in product development and to support your everyday work and decision-making. We currently work at Yle’s headquarters in Pasila and at Mediapolis in Tampere several days a week. We therefore hope that you recognise the value of in-person work and are ready to work in Pasila at least three days a week. Why join us? We offer a demanding and varied role where you can make a meaningful contribution to the customer experience of Yle’s digital services and deepen customer relationships. Developing customer journeys and growth initiatives are central to keeping Yle’s digital services relevant, personal and easily accessible to all Finns. Yle’s mission is to provide impartial information, promote democracy, and offer entertainment and shared experiences to Finns. You can influence the everyday lives of millions of people, regardless of their background, mother tongue or wealth. We want to work sustainably, ambitiously and with clear goals. We have a skilled community and a learning culture: you will be supported by leading experts in the field and join an organisation that encourages experimentation, continuous learning and the use of AI. We also offer longer annual holidays of six to seven weeks depending on experience, a family-friendly and flexible working life, and comprehensive employee benefits ranging from dental care to a gym.
