As a Design Team Leader, you are responsible for the coordination and guidance of production design in your area of responsibility in cooperation with the department manager, production planning, as well as designers and design partners. The position combines technical expertise, people management and practical work. You are responsible for ensuring that the design progresses according to the agreed goals and supports the needs of production. In this position, you actively work with various stakeholders and participate in the development of design as part of the project organization. In your work, you also promote Meyer Turku's HSE goals. Your duties include, among other things: - guiding the work of the design team and coordinating daily operations - preparing project-specific load and schedule plans and managing resources - ensuring the sufficiency and quality of design input data - supporting designers in technical and scheduling challenges - coordinating cooperation with production, basic design and external design partners - reviewing and approving design material - change management To succeed in the position, you must be able to perceive the overall picture between design and production and cooperate with different functions to achieve common goals. What we expect from you: We are looking for a person who has experience in design tasks and an interest in taking responsibility for guiding the team's operations. We value a practical approach, the ability to cooperate with different parties and a desire to lead and develop the team and operations in the long term. We hope for: - suitable technical education (e.g. engineer or master of science in technology) - experience in design tasks in shipbuilding or other project industry - understanding of the overall design and manufacturing processes and cost thinking - good cooperation and interaction skills - analytical and systematic approach and ability to manage several task entities simultaneously - fluent Finnish and English language skills In addition, we consider as an advantage: - experience in leading a team and developing its operations - a development-oriented and proactive approach - ability to identify areas for development and implement improvements In this position, you will get to work with the construction of the world's most advanced cruise ships and play a key role in the cooperation between design and production. You will have the opportunity to develop both your own expertise and operating methods together with experienced experts. Experience in shipbuilding is considered an advantage, but we will grow you into a shipbuilder under the guidance of experienced experts. Please note that we require a passed drug test and suitability for the duties of the employment relationship established in a health check from the selected person. Why come to work for us?
