Early years teacher

Vantaa City, Department of Growth and Learning, Early Childhood Education, Tikkurila Daycare Center at Neilikkatie 3, 01300 Vantaa. Temporary position until 31.12.2026. We are seeking two early childhood teachers for substitutes. One substitute is for the after-school group (ages under 3) with shifts between 5:30 and 22:00; the other is for a 3–5-year-old day group. We want a flexible and engaged colleague who listens to children with a sensitive ear and is truly present in the child’s everyday life. We value meeting children as individuals and as members of a group, and giving them a say in things that concern them. Growth, development and learning are seen as a positive path we walk together with the child, parents, and the whole team. Our day care supports teachers’ work in diverse pedagogical structures. We have regular joint teacher hours where unit pedagogical activities are developed and evaluated. There is a full-time special education teacher to support you. There are two day care center directors: one focuses on pedagogical leadership and the other on personnel/administrative leadership. The center is located close to excellent train and bus connections, in the heart of cultural services. The library, Silkki, Vernissa, Tikkurila Museum and Pessi art house are part of our extended learning environment. A variety of sports services are within walking distance. Interested? Terms follow the Municipal Education Personnel collective agreement (OVTES). Salary: 3129.71 EUR/month. An additional 15 EUR/month is paid for those meeting teacher qualification and 37.88 EUR/month for those with a Master’s in Educational Sciences. Experience pay is 3–8%. Required: police background check; tuberculosis clearance for those working with under-7s. Number of positions: 2. Probation: 2 months. Full-time. Work time: 38 h 15 min/week.
