We are looking for on-call workers among social and healthcare professionals who want to do their work well, develop their skills and commit to being part of children’s everyday lives. Pitkäjärvi Validia Home is a six-place special care unit for young people aged 12–17 who have received a special care decision. The unit provides modern, high-quality special care services that meet current requirements for children in the most challenging situations in child welfare, who need help stopping harmful behaviour. Rauhaniemi Validia Home is a modern, strongly resourced seven-place children’s home for children aged 12–17 who need broad-based support and multidisciplinary resources. Its purpose is to provide long-term, demanding substitute care, with special care services available to the children. Your work with us As an instructor, you will take part in the children’s daily guidance, upbringing and care. The work is goal-oriented and based on each child’s individual client plan. Our everyday life emphasises safe and predictable structures, meeting each child as an individual and an emotionally based approach. You will be involved in ordinary daily life, hobbies, outdoor activities and shared activities, as well as situations where children practise managing emotions, facing difficult matters and finding new ways of acting with the support of a safe adult. Our everyday life is strongly individualised, and the children’s needs, well-being and functional ability guide each day. The work involves enabling growth, learning and success together as part of a multidisciplinary work community. We especially value understanding of neurodivergence, attachment relationships and trauma, as well as a desire to develop professionally. The work is performed in three shifts and also includes household tasks as part of shared everyday life.
