Unit Manager

We are seeking a unit manager for Componenta Manufacturing Oy in Jyväskylä to lead the turning unit and pipe service operations with accountability for results, safety, and sustainable profitability. The role involves responsibility for the unit’s operations and development, production efficiency, quality, delivery reliability and personnel leadership. You will help run the unit in line with business objectives, ensuring operations are safe, high quality and profitable. Your tasks include daily and strategic operational management of Jyväskylä’s turning unit and pipe service, maintaining safety culture, developing delivery reliability, quality, cost efficiency and profitability, setting and reporting targets and plans, promoting continuous improvement and lean thinking, leading staff, developing skills and maintaining a good working atmosphere, collaborating with customers, suppliers and other Componenta operations, planning and executing investments and development initiatives, and continuously improving operations with production supervisors and staff. As unit manager you are part of Componenta’s operational management team. Requirements include suitable technical education, prior leadership/management experience in production, shop floor or machine shop industries, financial acumen and the ability to lead and develop unit operations, understanding of turning, production processes and industrial production environment, and evidence of driving production development, quality improvement and cost efficiency. Proficiency in Finnish and English is required. We value proactive, development-minded, practical approach and teamwork.
