Social and Health Care Teacher

Kainuun ammattiopisto seeks a full-time, permanent teacher for the social and health care field joining on 1 November 2026 or by agreement. The teacher will work as part of the social and health care team, primarily responsible for teaching and guiding the social and health care basic qualification and professional/expert qualifications. Responsibilities include competency-based teaching and guidance for vocational education students in secondary education, acting as a personal tutor, and developing student competence plans. Teaching will primarily be on-site, with potential for remote/online components, and includes assessment (exams), multidisciplinary collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, planning, organizing, and professional growth. The position values teamwork, flexibility, development-oriented attitude, and use of diverse guidance methods in collaboration with the team and industry. Beneficial is up-to-date practical experience in social and health care and broad understanding of core content from a nursing perspective. Qualifications follow the education sector regulations: higher degree, 60 ECTS or 35 study credits of pedagogical studies, and three years of practical teaching-related experience, or a suitable higher education degree with five years of related practical experience.
