Chief Executive Officer

Saarijärven Vuokra-asunnot Oy is seeking a part-time Chief Executive Officer to lead and develop the city’s rental housing portfolio and to start the operations of a new company. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of the City of Saarijärvi, tasked with owning, managing and developing the city’s rental housing stock. The operation will commence at the start of 2027, and the CEO will play a central role in building and launching the new company. Key responsibilities include: leading the company's operational and financial management under the board; building governance, financial models and operating frameworks; developing collaboration structures; coordinating preparations for asset transfers; improving occupancy and monitoring rental activity; long-term maintenance and renewal of the real estate portfolio; cooperating with the city, authorities, financiers, residents and other stakeholders; realizing owner objectives and advancing the organization’s impact. Qualifications: university degree at the master level or higher; strong finance and real estate expertise; experience leading a rental housing or real estate company; knowledge of regulations relating to VVO/ARA-funded housing stock; ability to ensure financial stability and develop operations; good collaboration, interpersonal and negotiation skills. Additional valued experience includes familiarity with the public-ownership corporate environment and the ability to initiate a new organization in a controlled and cost-efficient manner.
