Location: 100% remote Start date: By agreement; an early start is preferred Employment type: Full-time, permanent employment contract Work type: Staffing assignment Other: Possibility of partial remote work Job description We are looking for an experienced AI Agent Engineer to renew our client's forestry ERP system. You will work independently and direct autonomous AI agents that transform and renew a large Java/GWT user interface into a modern React implementation. We offer a long-term consulting assignment (an ongoing contract), the possibility to work fully remotely, and the opportunity to be at the forefront of using agent-based software development at scale. Responsibilities - Build and direct autonomous AI agents to modernise the user interface and logic of a legacy ERP system using React and Java. - Build ERP views, including search views, editors and dialogs, with React. - Design the REST APIs behind the user interfaces. - Build tools and checks for agent-driven development at this scale. - Refactor and modernise legacy ERP code into a new React- and Java-based architecture. We are looking for - A strong track record in agent-driven development: experience building, directing and orchestrating autonomous AI agents (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor/Windsurf in agent mode, LangChain/CrewAI), and creating your own guidance files (system prompts, context files, Custom Instructions, MCP servers). - Applied TypeScript and React architecture expertise: ability to assess, review and guide agent-generated interface code and ensure it follows best practices. - Extensive end-to-end web product development experience and an understanding of overall architecture, so you can give agents the right context, inputs and boundaries. - Ability to guide agents through large existing codebases and refactor legacy code in a controlled and safe way. - Excellent judgement of UI and UX quality, including the ability to refine agents' visual and functional output. - Fluent English, particularly for precise agent prompting and documentation. We appreciate - Good Finnish skills. - Understanding of Java and REST APIs, enabling you to guide agents in reading and understanding backend Java logic and APIs. - Experience with ERP or other business-critical systems, which helps define the right business rules and constraints for agents. - Experience with geographic information systems or GIS software. - Experience with cloud services (AWS).
