Our small, three-group daycare centre makes everyday life calm, with familiar adults and high-quality small-group activities. The unit is easy to reach by public transport. We are seeking a childcare worker for a permanent substitute role in early childhood education. You will work as a substitute in different groups of children, especially when absences arise unexpectedly. You will get to know the children and adults, while your days remain pleasantly varied. Working together, sharing the joy of success and having a sense of humour are important parts of our everyday work. At Itämeri-Maininki-Saukko, we work wholeheartedly together in early childhood education. Everyday life is lively and varied, and no two days are alike. You will mainly work at your own unit, but when needed you must also be ready to move to other daycare centres in the area. You will work in all the daycare centre’s groups as needed. You will cover sudden absences and annual leave. The work is varied and versatile, and each day is different. You will quickly get to know the whole work community, and each group will give you a good introduction to its activities. Our activities are based on children’s interests, needs and goals. This year, our unit aims to promote literacy and children’s wellbeing. We have particularly developed small-group activities and outdoor play in all weather. Another important focus has been community: we consider children’s agency and the strengthening of social and emotional skills important. As a childcare worker in early childhood education, you plan and provide pedagogically focused care, education and teaching together with the other staff, in accordance with the early childhood education unit’s action plan, Helsinki’s early childhood education plan, the pre-primary education plan and the child’s individual early childhood education plan. Eligibility requirements: You must have a vocational qualification in education and guidance, a vocational qualification in social and health care, or another corresponding suitable qualification that includes sufficiently extensive units in childcare, education and teaching, or that you have supplemented with such units (Early Childhood Education Act 540/2018, section 28; Decree 753/2018, sections 3 and 4). An eligibility recognition decision made by the Finnish National Agency for Education on the basis of foreign education is also accepted. You must also have good spoken and written Finnish. The selected person must present a valid criminal record extract for working with children (504/2002). A respiratory tuberculosis assessment is checked for employees working with children under school age (Communicable Diseases Act, section 55).
