Special Education Teacher

We are looking for two special education teachers in early childhood education for the eastern area to strengthen our pedagogical expertise and support children's growth and learning. You will work in a daycare center agreed upon at the time, and your immediate supervisor will be the director of the daycare center where you are working. Permanent employment begins on August 1, 2026, or by agreement. What do we offer? Collaboration and planning The regional manager and regional special education teachers in early childhood education plan together in which daycare centers the resource special education teacher will work during each period. If necessary, the special services manager and the daycare center director also participate in the planning. A joint meeting with the daycare center's management team is organized at the beginning of the period to specify: - operational goals - collaboration and operating methods - division of labor and responsibilities in relation to the daycare center's special education teacher and other staff You will work in the same daycare center for at least 6 consecutive months, which enables strong collaboration and the building of a functional daily routine together with the team. Your duties in the daycare center: - plan and implement pedagogical support measures for your group at all levels of support in collaboration with the team. - act as an expert in growth and learning support and as a developer of pedagogical activities in your own group. - observe children's support needs in everyday situations and consult staff. - participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of early special pedagogical methods. - develop and modify learning environments together with the team. - act as a co-teacher or joint teacher with the group teacher, planning, implementing, and evaluating pedagogical activities. - implement individual and small-group teaching part-time or full-time as needed. - collaborate multidisciplinarily in various everyday situations. Eligibility requirements are determined according to Section 30 of the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018): The eligibility requirements for special education teacher positions in early childhood education are: 1) eligibility for the position of early childhood education teacher, in addition to which studies providing professional qualifications for special education positions, as prescribed by government decree, have been completed; or 2) a Master of Education with a major in special pedagogy (early special education teacher training). The person selected for the position must provide the employer with a criminal record extract as referred to in Section 6, subsection 2 of the Criminal Records Act (Act on the Verification of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children 504/2002).
