Senior Software Engineer

We’re seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help build the best Managed PostgreSQL for AI workloads. The role spans the control plane and lifecycle automation in Go, PostgreSQL internals and performance, migration tooling, and handling customer escalations. You will work across the stack and may choose to work from our offices in Amsterdam or London, hybrid, or remotely from EU timezones. Responsibilities include developing the control plane and lifecycle automation for Managed PostgreSQL (provisioning, high availability, failover, backups, PITR, upgrades, maintenance), hardening PostgreSQL (MVCC, WAL, replication, vacuum, planner, extensions), building migration tooling to move customers off AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, Azure PostgreSQL, and self-managed clusters with minimal downtime, driving the AI-Postgres story (vector search, hybrid retrieval, integration with Nebius AI Cloud), and running the service like an SRE (SLOs, observability, incident response, postmortems). You will work directly with customers on architecture reviews, performance escalations, and production problems. Must-haves include 5+ years of production PostgreSQL experience at scale, strong Go/backend skills, deep PostgreSQL internals knowledge, and experience with Patroni/Stolon/pg_auto_failover, WAL-G, PgBouncer, and related tooling. Nice-to-haves include pgvector/pgvectorscale experience, cloud managed database control planes, Kubernetes operators, PostgreSQL OSS contributions, and AI/ML workload experience.
