Job Description

Mäntsälä's education services are guided by a customer service perspective, with children and youth at the center. We are united by a common goal to develop the well-being of students and staff, pedagogy, and a safe learning environment. We believe in a responsible work approach and a team-based way of working. We are seeking a project coordinator for a fixed-term employment contract from 1.9.2026 to 31.5.2027 to implement the S2 teaching development project. The position is located in the administration of education services. The main place of work is the Mäntsälä municipal hall. Work is also carried out extensively in the municipality's various schools. The focus of the work is the S2-S1 transitions of students and especially creating the structures of supplementary teaching in preparatory education to be functional, criteria-based, and uniform practices. The goal of the school-year-long project is to strengthen language-aware pedagogy and operational culture. The project coordinator's task is to define transition criteria based on language skills, assessment practices, responsibilities, and the role of guardians. The development and implementation of the operating model takes place in cooperation with the steering group, school staff, and homes. In the project, the job description of a linguistic support teacher is built as part of the municipality's S2 and S1 teaching. The position requires the qualification of a teacher of mother tongue and literature or languages, as well as experience in teaching S2 and multilingual students. In addition, versatile information and communication technology skills and their smooth utilization in teaching, as well as a flexible, independent and developing work approach, are required. The applicant is expected to have knowledge and expertise in language-aware teaching. The position also requires good cooperation and interaction skills, the ability to act in teams and multi-professional networks, and natural interaction with students and staff. Performing the task requires a willingness to move within the municipality's area in different schools. We offer a meaningful and independent task, the support of a competent work community, and the opportunity to participate in the development of teaching. Mäntsälä is an education- and development-oriented municipality. We will orient you well to your duties and offer opportunities for training and developing your own work skills. We support well-being at work with sports, culture, and well-being benefits. Partial remote work is possible. Salary and terms of employment are determined according to the general municipal government and employee agreement. Position-specific salary: 3640.80 eur/month. In addition, experience bonus can be paid based on previous work experience. A four-month probationary period applies to the filling of the position. The selected person must present a criminal record extract as specified in Section 6, subsection 2 of the Criminal Records Act no later than 30 days after receiving the selection decision. Further information about the position is provided by special expert of education Matti Kastikainen, tel. 040 314 5920 and education expert Leena Rättyä, tel. 040 314 5456. You can also inquire about the position by email at firstname.lastname@mantsala.fi. Submit your application by July 30, 2026, at 4:00 PM using the electronic application form: Open jobs - mantsala.rekrytointi.com. Attach a cover letter and your CV to the application. We welcome applications from people of different ages, genders, backgrounds, and various minorities.
