As Chief Physician in Psychiatry at the Porvoo Psychiatry, you will combine clinical work, multi-professional collaboration and leadership in a way that visibly improves the quality of care. We seek a permanent appointment for a Chief Physician for the Porvoo psychiatry mood disorders clinic within the Itä- and Keski-Uudenmaan psychiatry line. Start date 1.10.2026 or by agreement. The Itä- and Keski-Uudenmaan psychiatry line is responsible for specialized psychiatric care for the population of Itä-Uusimaa and Keusote areas. You will work as part of a knowledgeable and development‑minded organization that prioritizes high-quality care and staff development. The unit you will oversee is the mood disorders unit in Itä-Uusimaa. As Chief Physician you play a central role in leading and developing outpatient services in collaboration with the head of department and other supervisors within the teams. In addition to administrative duties, you will advance care processes for mood disorder patients in cooperation with other HUS psychiatry actors, strengthen cooperation with the local wellbeing services region, and engage in clinical patient care. The role may also include supervision of specialist trainees and medical students. You will work closely with other outpatient units on the line. Eligibility: specialization in psychiatry and experience from administration or leadership roles in psychiatry, willingness to develop outpatient services, good collaboration and interaction skills, and ability to lead a multidisciplinary team. Qualifications include board-certified psychiatrist and governance/leadership experience; must be licensed to practice medicine. (Trainees in final stages may be considered for substitutes). Finnish language proficiency required; Swedish acceptable with good Finnish knowledge; or excellent Swedish with sufficient Finnish.
