Doctoral Researcher

A Doctoral researcher position is part of the Doctoral Programme on Inequalities, Interventions and New Welfare State (DPInvest) at the University of Turku. The programme is cross-disciplinary, international and aims at educating specialists in social and behavioural sciences. The doctoral programme includes sociology, psychology, and child psychiatry across faculties. DPInvest is part of the INVEST Research Flagship Centre. Job description: A doctoral researcher position begins on 1 January 2027 or by agreement during 2027. The fixed-term position lasts at most four years, not beyond 31 December 2030. The basis for employment is the doctoral researcher's work related to their studies. A person who already holds a doctoral degree cannot be selected. The position requires working in Finland; Turku is the place of work. The position is for full-time doctoral research and studies. Teaching and other duties should allow the dissertation to be completed within the timetable. The annual working time is 1,612 hours, with up to 5% of time for teaching (up to ~80 hours per academic year). We offer international research environment, supervision, and support for international hires, including flexible hours and wellbeing services. Salary is based on the University’s salary system; range €2,400–€3,300 monthly depending on progress, with level 2 for new hires.
