Crisis Worker

The Vantaa and Kerava wellbeing services district is seeking a permanent Crisis Worker for its social and crisis emergency services. The role is open to qualified nurses or social workers, with additional training in crisis work being an advantage. The unit provides 24/7 urgent social emergency and acute crisis work for residents of Vantaa and Kerava, following the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health's recommendations for psychosocial support in traumatic crises. The work is conducted in three shifts and involves collaborating with social workers on social work tasks. The role is part of the emergency team, focusing on psychosocial crisis work and preparing for large-scale accident situations. The unit is a national operator for psychosocial support under the Health Care Act. Key partners include the police, rescue services, emergency medical services, and border authorities. Work is performed in pairs within a multidisciplinary team, primarily through home visits, office visits, and telephone contact. Requirements include a bold attitude, willingness to learn, active work approach, good community skills, pressure resistance, and flexibility. A driver's license and driving skills are required, and the candidate must pass a security clearance. Support is provided through colleagues, a management team available 24/7, and regular supervision. The work environment is client-oriented and includes unique tasks such as national readiness assignments and operational duties at the airport.
