About the role

Vantaan city, Education and Learning, Basic Education. Martinlaakso School, Martinlaaksonpolku 9, 01620 Vantaa. Fixed-term contract from 19 August 2026 to 31 July 2027. We are looking for a class teacher to work as a resource teacher in the lower grades (3–6) focusing on simultaneous and differentiated teaching. The role also includes some teaching hours in health education and home economics for upper grades. Martinlaakso School is a comprehensive school for grades 1–9 with about 1000 students and about 130 adults in the school community. The school is located in Martinlaakso with good transport connections, in a modern building with up-to-date teaching equipment. Our diverse local environment offers excellent opportunities for learning and movement. Our aim is to be pedagogically cohesive basic schooling where students of different ages meet; classroom teaching and subject teaching are situated close to each other and school staff work together to support a unified basic education approach. We are developing our school under the ProKoulu operating model, which means shared goals and operating methods across the entire adult community to guide students’ behavior with positive feedback. We require applicants to commit to an education that follows this model. We value experience in simultaneous and differentiated instruction, ability to work flexibly as part of a large multi-disciplinary team, good communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to plan and organize one’s own work. We offer modern teaching facilities and up-to-date equipment to support teacher collaboration, and a workforce culture that emphasizes community and well-being. We also provide teacher mentors for new teachers. Further information and recruitment progress: for non-Finnish mother tongue students, depending on the need, pay may include about 250 EUR/month salary supplement for teachers who meet teaching staff requirements under the municipal collective agreement OVTeS.
