Join us in doing meaningful and impactful work in a great team. **Sospro Taimela** is a special-level foster care child welfare institution consisting of two units on the same site, Pähkylä and Tähkä. Pähkylä has been operational since 2021 and the Tähkä unit since autumn 2023. Both units have space for seven children aged 9–17. Children living in **Tähkä** require special support and present symptoms in many ways, including neurodivergence, autism spectrum disorders, developmental delays, and/or intellectual disabilities. All children living with us are capable of functioning independently, and the work is not clinical in nature. Tähkä's operations are based on a regular structure and a consistent, predictable daily routine, which brings continuity and security to the children's lives. Animal-assisted work is a large part of the Tähkä unit's daily life. Our children particularly enjoy activity and doing things together. Our unit is located on the **Kiipula** vocational college area, which provides great facilities and surroundings for work and activity. The position is permanent and full-time. Work in a child welfare residential unit is three-shift work, so it includes evening, night, and weekend work. Since the children and young people in the unit are at school during the day, the work is naturally evening-oriented. We plan shifts considering the employee's personal situation and life. **Your tasks as an instructor are** - To act as a reliable and safe adult for the entire group of children and as a primary instructor for 1–2 children - To act as the activity coordinator for the Tähkä unit, in cooperation with the activity coordinator of the Pähkylä unit, involving other team members and children - To bring your own expertise to the entire work group from the perspective of your educational background - To collaborate with the child's parents, school, and other networks - To participate actively in the reporting, evaluation, and development work of your team's quality of work **We value** - Experience in the social and health sector, working with children and youth, child welfare, psychiatry, children with special needs, and intellectual disability work - Team players with good interaction skills and a sense of humor - A professional and independent approach to work - An open and courageous attitude - Kind-hearted individuals with a desire to work in the demanding field of child welfare and with children and youth needing special support - A balanced combination of calmness and activity We require a degree in Socionomy (BSc) from the selected instructor. From the beginning of 2023, we also have an incentive reward system that provides an extra incentive based on success to be used for the work group's well-being and recreation. Work includes evening, night, and weekend shifts, and the employment includes a six-month probationary period. The selected person must have a driver's license, and the position requires a hygiene passport, first aid training, and a social and health care professional card. The employment contract follows the Private Social Services Sector Collective Agreement. The selected person must present a criminal record extract as required by the Act on the Checking of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children (505/2002).
