Planning Manager

Planning Manager will lead a team of six chief planners and influence how Lappeenranta looks and how the city functions. Your work will be visible in streets, traffic arrangements, stormwater solutions, and other public areas—everyday life for residents. The role sits in the Planning and Construction Service Unit under the Production Manager, in the Streets and Environment area responsible for design and procurement of streets, stormwater systems, parks, and other public spaces, as well as ordering, guiding and supervising related expert services. The job blends people leadership, urban design and practical problem solving. You will lead your own expert team, direct consultants, and closely collaborate with experts in green spaces, planning, land ownership, construction and maintenance. One day you solve the operability of a single street; another day you define how people move in future Lappeenranta. You will switch from technical planning meetings with consultants to presenting to management and a residents' meeting about upcoming changes in a clear way.
