The role involves promoting the well-being of children and youth by organizing free, low-threshold recreational activities in Lahden Malli and at Mukkulan and Tiirismaa schools. You will join an established working model. Your youth work is preventive and youth-centred, planned, evaluated and developed in cooperation with school staff and the local area team. Duties include youth activity guidance, supporting and guiding finding activity groups, and planning, developing and leading activities. The role requires you to be comfortable with yourself as a professional, as youth work is adult work. You must be able to interact with youths as a safe adult and have good communication and interpersonal skills. You should have a positive, flexible and proactive attitude, cooperative spirit and initiative. Experience in multi-disciplinary cooperation is an advantage. You should be able to organize and develop and adapt to changing everyday situations. We offer you the opportunity to use your strengths and expertise, with support from other team members. The local team includes a school-based youth worker and youth guides for open youth work in the area, and together you plan and implement youth work that supports youth well-being in the area. In addition, you will receive support from a joint team of activity instructors and a coordinator of recreational activities. We hope you have either a secondary vocational qualification in youth work or sports coaching, or an AMK degree in community education or a coach in sports. Successful candidates will have experience working with youths; experience in school-based youth activity guidance is an advantage. The position is permanent with a start date as agreed, but by 1 October 2026 at latest. The youth activity guide salary is 2665.80 €/month and the work time is 38.25 h/week. Working hours vary between 8:00 and 18:00; some evenings and weekends may be required. Because the work involves children and youths, a criminal background check will be carried out before employment. There is a 6-month probationary period.
