Nokian parish church is seeking a parish pastor to begin on 1 January 2027 or by agreement. In addition to the priest’s core duties, the role's special responsibility area is to strengthen community spirit within the parish and especially to support the Virta community’s activities. The core duties include conducting church services, managing ecclesiastical worship, and leading confirmation classes. Virta is a community launched in 2025 based on the leadership of parishioners, with core activities including small group work and a bi-monthly mass organized by community members. We expect you to have experience in the parish’s core pastoral work. Beneficial is experience and vision for building a communal church life and supporting community leadership-based activity. We particularly value the ability to coach and support parishioners toward leadership and to build an organizational culture where responsibility and decision-making are distributed meaningfully. The successful pastor will be able to recognize, strengthen, and enable others’ leadership. In our parish work, we work together in a multidisciplinary way, so we also expect strong collaboration skills and the ability to recognise the unique features of different fields of work. For timetable reasons, we cannot consider theologian masters who have not yet been ordained as priests.
