Special Education Teacher

In the workplaces, some buildings have microbe growth affecting indoor air quality, to which the most sensitive individuals may react. The municipality has started measures to improve indoor air in existing buildings. A new school building is expected to be completed in 2028. As a special education teacher, you will serve during the 2026–2027 academic year to support a class and individual students in grades 3 and 4, with about 55 pupils per group, together with two other class teachers. You will participate in preparing support documents and, when needed, in multidisciplinary collaboration. You will also support integration students to study as part of the general education group. At our school, special educators also have supervision responsibility for home instruction. We value a positive attitude towards curriculum-based work, flexible teaching arrangements, and developing co-teaching and organizational skills. Special educators meet regularly for development sessions at school and municipal levels. Qualification requirements follow the provisions of the Decree on Qualification Requirements for Teaching Staff (986/1998, section 3(8)). Salary is under OV TES regulations, with teaching duties amounting to 22 hours per week. Pornaisten kunta pays a salary class based on municipal salary scale and additionally provides a 50€ task-specific allowance for special education teachers. The successful applicant must present a criminal record extract and a medical certificate before starting. A two-month probation period applies.
