Two permanent posts for specialist physicians in child psychiatry are available in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry responsibility unit of the Lapland wellbeing services county. The posts are based at outpatient clinics in Rovaniemi and Kemi/Tornio. The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry responsibility unit provides a specialist healthcare service covering the whole Lapland region. It includes the child and adolescent psychiatry outpatient clinics and wards at Lapland Central Hospital, as well as the child and adolescent psychiatry outpatient clinic at Länsi-Pohja Hospital, whose locations are Kemi and Tornio. As a child psychiatrist, you will do meaningful specialist healthcare work as part of a skilled multidisciplinary workplace. The specialist physician’s work focuses on clinical patient care at a child psychiatry outpatient clinic as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will be responsible for the assessment, treatment and follow-up of your own patients. Depending on your interests, the duties may also be planned to include work in basic-level mental health services and family counselling services. The working week is 38.25 hours, and the work is daytime work from Monday to Friday. We offer flexible ways of working, including the possibility of partial remote work. Part-time work can also be agreed upon. Eligibility requires the right to practise as a licensed specialist physician in child psychiatry. If no suitable applicant meeting the eligibility requirements is available, a physician specialising in child psychiatry may also be appointed to the post for a fixed term. Pay and terms of employment are determined in accordance with the physicians’ collective agreement. A six-month probationary period applies to the public-service employment relationship. For employee vaccination protection, we comply with the requirements of the work and the Communicable Diseases Act. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract referred to in section 6, subsection 2 of the Criminal Records Act before starting the position.
