About the role

Perho Liiketalousopisto is a professional vocational school founded by employers in our fields of study. We operate on three well-connected campuses in Helsinki: Malmi, Töölö and the Urhea campus (Mäkelänrinne). At Perho, students study business in service industries, and we train skilled professionals for restaurant, travel and nature sectors as well as business needs. We also support linking sports with study as a sports school. Our diverse learning environments are complemented by digital campus facilities, Perho restaurants, Green City Farm city plots, Perho Brewery and Cheese House, and Helmi Center fitness center (www.perho.fi). Perho carries a long tradition as a trainer of restaurant professionals and is proud of our roots that have evolved for 90 years. Our workplace culture emphasizes collaborative work and listening to everyone. We work together at Perho. We are now hiring a service teacher for restaurant and catering basic education for an undefined period of time. The position can start in late summer/early autumn or by agreement. You will join the team of service instructors who, like other chefs’ instructors, primarily work at the Töölö campus. You will teach and mentor restaurant and catering basic education students toward customer service professionalism. The teaching blocks cover broad areas such as serving in catering services, customer service and sales, portioned dishes and beverage service, À la carte service and beverage service. The job includes career guidance, guidance for on-the-job learning and teaching sections of common qualification modules. We expect from you a relevant qualification, pedagogical competence or strong pedagogical and guiding insight, diverse experience in customer service roles in the restaurant sector (service and floor operations), experience working with youth and ability to relate to diverse learners, willingness to actively participate in teaching activities and service education development, ICT skills and competence in using digital learning environments, good written and spoken communication in Finnish, initiative, a proactive attitude and teamwork, readiness to commit to Perho values: brave, responsible, service-minded and inspiring. Experience in restaurant education and good networks are appreciated. We offer a varied and challenging role with development opportunities, a pleasant and wellness-promoting work environment, opportunities for professional growth, competitive employee benefits, and Perho’s expertise and leadership in vocational education. Terms of employment follow the collective agreement for private sector teaching staff. Perho operates on a yearly basis and teacher working hours follow the annex 10A of the agreement. The salary depends on the candidate's educational background, pedagogical qualification and work experience supporting the role. Perho employs staff who work with minors, so selected candidates must present a background check as required by law (504/2002). Applications close by 31 August 2026 at 16:00 in the Perho electronic job portal.
