We are looking for a dog handler / lead guide for our kennel in Saariselkä. We have two kennels, and we are hiring a dog handler / lead guide for the Saariselkä location. Previous experience as a husky guide is essential. The job includes all kennel tasks from basic care of the dogs to trail grooming and guiding / customer service during husky safaris, as well as supervisory tasks at the kennel. Key responsibilities: - Ensuring the well-being of the dogs - Communicating with the owner and other staff - Reliability: keeping your promises, asking questions when needed, communicating, and listening - Planning, assigning, coordinating, organizing, and operating daily tasks - HR tasks: guiding guides through training and personnel management - Ensuring and developing the quality of customer service - Developing and streamlining operations What we are looking for: - Good dog handling skills and a genuine desire to keep the dogs well-being a priority, experience as a husky guide - Experience in dog sledding - Basic management of snowmobiles (side-by-side, trail grooming) - Fluent English skills - Good interpersonal skills, listening, and communication - Excellent organizational skills, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously - Can-do attitude in customer service, calm in new situations, handling matters with style - Flexibility and ability to react quickly to changing situations, patience - Leadership in safety and risk management, ensuring operations comply with Finnish legislation and FLH internal guidelines - Close cooperation with the company owner and other staff. The work begins in early autumn, according to agreement, but there is an opportunity to start already in summer.
